Spicy Cajun Butter Corn on the Cob

  • Author: Daphne
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A bold and flavorful twist on classic corn on the cob, featuring a smoky, spicy Cajun butter sauce. Perfect for summer BBQs or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ears of fresh corn on the cob
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Remove the husks and silk from the corn. Rinse under cold water to remove any remaining silk strands. Pat dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. If boiling: Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Add the corn and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender.
  3. If grilling: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Brush the corn lightly with olive oil and grill for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until charred and tender.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to create a smooth sauce.
  5. Once the corn is cooked, brush or spoon the Cajun butter generously over each cob, ensuring every kernel is coated.
  6. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the corn for a burst of brightness, and serve immediately.

Notes

[‘Brush the corn with olive oil to prevent sticking if grilling.’, ‘Adjust the cayenne pepper for desired spice level.’, ‘Fresh corn is ideal, but frozen corn can be used if thawed completely.’, ‘Double the Cajun butter for extra dipping or drizzling.’]
