  • Author: Daphne

  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Garlic Butter Tilapia recipe captures all the magic of a gourmet dinner without the hassle. It’s quick, easy, and packed with buttery richness and bright citrus flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tilapia fillets (fresh or frozen, thawed if needed)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon (juice and zest)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: thyme or rosemary

Instructions

  1. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Place your skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, it’s ready for the fish.
  3. Add the fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove tilapia from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped parsley. If you’re using other herbs like thyme or rosemary, add them now too.
  6. Return the cooked tilapia to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over the fillets. Let them simmer in the sauce for 1-2 minutes to soak up the flavors.
  7. Transfer the tilapia to a plate and drizzle the remaining sauce on top. Garnish with extra parsley or lemon slices for presentation.

Notes

[‘Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook the fillets in batches if needed.’, ‘Use fresh garlic for a more robust flavor.’, ‘Avoid overcooking the fish to prevent dryness.’, ‘Flip the fillets gently to keep them intact.’, ‘Taste and adjust the sauce before serving.’]
