Blueberry Biscuits Recipe Perfect for Easy Breakfast

  • Author: Daphne
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 biscuits 1x

Description

Soft, buttery biscuits bursting with juicy blueberries, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) cold whole milk
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh or frozen blueberries
  • Optional toppings: honey, butter, powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut cold butter into small cubes and add to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Slowly pour in cold whole milk, stirring gently until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold blueberries into the dough, being careful not to crush them.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Let the biscuits cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with honey, spread with butter, or dust with powdered sugar for an extra treat.

Notes

[‘Keep butter cold for flaky biscuits.’, ‘Do not overmix the dough to avoid tough biscuits.’, ‘Toss blueberries in flour before folding into the dough to prevent sinking.’, ‘Chill the dough for 15 minutes before cutting to help biscuits hold their shape.’]
